You should be able to get your money back from whoever you bought it from. l tried selling one on ebay once and they took it off. l do not see why you should not be able to sell it as it does not have your name on like an airline ticket so you could try.

its not illegal to sell anything, unless its something you shouldnt have, like a gun lol.

National rail will refund you a unused ticket but they charge a fiver l think, try looking at their website or ring them National Rail Enquiries: 08457 48 49 50

Generally, no, u can not. Buying a ticket is agreeing to a legal contract with the rail / issuing company. It is between the Company & You, the original purchaser (as the argument goes).

On the other hand, if u can achieve this 'quietly', then l hope u can.

Rail companies get away with 'overselling ticket numbers' without any qualms as to the safety or comfort of the travelling public.

[ My arguments r made very simplistically - because it is a complex argument & l have not the time to argue it through ~ nor u the desire to read it anyway ]

l do not think it is illegal unless it is issued in your name. For example, if you bought an annual pass, used it for 6 months and then sold it, it would be illegal.

Yes it is illegal, but the chances of anyone finding out r extremely small.

Is it just the return portion that u r looking to offload, or the whole ticket? If it is the former, then ur chances of finding a buyer r remote. In either case, as others have said, u can normally return it for a refund but u will have to pay an administration charge. However, if u sell the ticket u cannot expect to realise anywhere near the face value unless it is for a heavily used route where the tickets r considerably more expensive if not booked in advance.
