Go to a train ticket selling site and punch in the requirements and get a price.

You are talking in the region of £30 for adult and child on return fare.

go onto the national express web site, you should get a rough idea then but l think it is around £44 for an adult

Go to http://southernrailway.com/ and order yourself a £10 Southern go anywhere daysave ticket. It is the cheapest way of travelling from Brighton to London.

You can get Advance tickets on the off peak Southern Trains (the ones with reservable seats) you have to Book before 1800 the day before, and they start at £3 e/w Adult, £1 e/w child.

If you can not book in advance take the one to St Pancras as its cheaper. £16 Off peak day return Adult, £8 Off peak day return child
