You take the purple line to the red line, then the red line to any of the stops at the loop, like Chicago/Roosevelt/Harrison.

Fares r $2 when u start off, but if you're transferring to another train stop, then it wo not take off any money, as long as it is within two hours. If u transfer to a bus stop, it will take off only 25 cents, as long as it is within two hours.

l would suggest buying an all day pass from the currency exchange, which is only $5. Seven-day passes r $20.

You can always look at http://transitchicago.com/ to figure out how exactly to get to the north avenue beach. l went a few days ago but by car, so l did not really see a train stop, or maybe l was not looking.

But yeah, it is best to go to that website to look at directions or to call the number on the site. :)
