Is there a big difference between 1st and 2nd class on the Swiss Railroad System? Is it worth the extra money??

It is not that big of a difference. l have used both, and prefer first class, but l always prefer the slightly bigger and more comfy seats.

When l traveled on the expense report l went first class. When l traveled for vacation l went 2nd. It is not really worth the extra money. No matter what, the Swiss rail system is great.

1st & 2nd class r very comfortable by international standards.

In the first class there r larger seats & it is much easier to find a seat during rush hour. Some wagons also have office cabins which provide plugs for laptops & even small desks.
On beautiful mountain routes first class wagons also often provide extra large panorama windows.

In think the first class is worth the extra money if u r traveling for business on longer routes & wish to work with ur laptop. For tourists first class is not really necessary as they mostly travel outside of rush hours. Then 2nd class is also very comfortable. If u wish to enjoy the panorama wagon u could still buy an upgrade for specific routes.
