Generally retirement payments can not be garnished.. (Remember OJ Simpson.. ? THe Goldman is would love to strip him of his retirement funds)

If you are speaking of the Internal Revenue Service the answer is yes. They can garnish SSA as well.

But, as a result of a civil suit, no. The IRS can and will garnish any recorded income.
