The train is not the problem I'd be worried about. I'd say no just because a lot of people are in there, and with no immune system, a sneeze could get him really sick.

Leukemia sucks, but do not blame it on the doctors. His body killed itself.

even a common cold can be fatal to him

l do not see why not, but a face mask to protect against air borne diseases as well as latex gloves to afford protection against bacteria would be a good idea. If the gloves are too much, then carry some antibacterial soap to wash hands frequently with.

Plus, I've known some engineers in my lifetime that were running the train with few or no brain cells...
